and away with the west wind i shall travel, between mountains and streams- valley and meadow. not even zephyr himself shall defeat me.
Silence. Serenity. Closure. Comfort. Night time. Flaxen hair rippled through the dense undergrowth as Quixote padded down the narrow trail silently. A long sigh of relief was issued as the mare continued along her lonesome journey. Of all the places she had travelled, this by far was of most interest. Between the rolling green hills, the shattered cliffsides, and the most irridecent of oceans; this place was intriguing. She smiled to herself, it had been some time since she could take full comfort in just, being. Being there, being in a place she didn't know or recognize. Being the horse she once was, vivid, lively, full of energy. And she had escaped the confines of her once lustrous home to come here, to this place she had heard of many a time.
Quixote craned her head behind her, to give her back a swift glace-over. It appeared luminous to the almost pitch surroundings. When she was younger, the mare often feared sticking out from the trees and other cover. But now she only cast away her discomfort in hopes that the newer, more welcoming feelings would come back to her. They did, and she tossed her elegantly sculpted cranium towards the moon, lifting her fores off the ground momentarily before returning to her mortal, stationary self. Of all the things she wished she could be, a pegasi. Laughter errupted from her throat playfully, she couldn't help it. Since she was but a mere foal it had been all she ever dreamed of. Now, she was all but one. She had the color, perhaps even the intelligence. But lacking pistons to carry her farther than ever before, no. For now, she would give in to flying Earth and beyond...carrying her swiftly none but her feet...
