It was like a disease. Wanting to have a companion. Maybe it was just desperation, or craziness from being alone for so long. All she knew was that she needed someone, to be able to depend on. Was that it? Was she being too independent? Then why was she so bitter? Always, whenever she was around someone who made up a joke, she wouldn't find it funny. But, down inside her, was a laugh trying to escape. But her mind, wouldn't let it out,. But, if she had someone to inspire her, she would have joy in her eyes, and happiness. Maybe then she would be able to enjoy what life had in store for the mare.
It was warm, and sunny. A lot of trees were where she was laying. Finally, able to rest. But, not able to exactly rest mentally. She stood up, frustrated with the fact. Brook was never the type that just let things go, and let her mind lead her to anything. No, she had to make sure she knew what she was doing. Or else she might end up lost in her own little world as well as the one we're in. Too bad she couldn't feel safe, then maybe she would be able to sleep at night, or anytime. Instead of always having to make sure someone wasn't following her. But, what if someone was? It's not like she could do anything about it but fight. And she has no intentions of fighting.
Brook slowly stepped into a puddle of water. And stepped out, making sure her hooves dragged in the dirt. When she came to another puddle she cleaned her hooves off. This was not one of her little mind games to entertain her, but just a habit. Oh well, she thought. This might keep her busy until she found a stream or river to cool off in. The mare threw her head back and whinnied almost playfully, just for fun. She was bored, and wanted to find something to entertain her.
Perhaps it was curiosity, or just stupidness. She lifted up her right front hoof then her left, atop a log. And rolled it over and kept rolling it, until she reached a river. Balancing on her back legs she rolled it into the river. And snorted when it splashed her in the face. She shook and the water drops flew everywhere. The water hit a few stones causing them to sparkle. When she rested her head on the stone and lay down, she noticed a tree. I know, it's just a tree., but this one had a strange blossom hanging from on of it's branches. Since her whole head was still soaked and the wind would eventually dry it she went over to the blossom and picked it off with her teeth. Brook dropped it in the river and leapt in after it. She chased it around until she was tired. And got out.
I'm forgetting why I'm here. She said to herself and shook her mane and lay down again. Her eyes twinkled when she looked at the sun and almost enjoyed herself. But now she was just trying to cheer herself up. Because deep inside she wanted to enjoy herself. Just like any other horse right? Okay, maybe sometimes she felt like just sitting in the darkness all alone. But, that was only because she get sad a lot. But, that was why she was here, to start over and be happy. Was that so hard to get? All she wanted was a little joy in her life, and someone to share it with. She called out, awaited for a stallion too listen to her.
