((OOC> Hallo. here is my mare character description))
Name:Jah-Rana.
Nicknames: Jahna, Rana, Jah.
Age: 4
Age of maturity: 3
Height: 15.2 hh
Color: Pure black.
Personality:
Jah-Rana is fiesty, untamed by any stallion (yet), and brave. She is cautious and alert.
Abilties:
She has a gait resembling the foxtrot.
Disadvantages:
She is terrified of being unable to move.
Appearance:
Jah-Rana is very beautiful. Her head is arab, and her long legs suggest maybe a Thoroughbred stallion got loose somewhere in the line.
She has large eyes, small ears, and an arched neck. Her tail is held high. Her hooves are feathered, as a Fresian's are. Her mane is quite long, falling to just above her chest. Her forelock is thick, and falls to the tip of her nose. Her tail sweeps the earth.
A few lines IC:
A tall, unusually beautiful, if dusty, black mare trotted alone across the ground. Her only thought at the time was travel.
Yes, she did travel."I've been bloody traveling for such a long time." She muttered to thin air.
She lashed her thick, black tail, irritated. Why did she have to be alone?!
She whinnied furiously and broke into a fast gallop. Her hooves kicked up green grass as she tore across the empty stretch of earth.
She slid to a stop, rearing.
She finally calmed her self down. "Find a herd. And a stallion." She snorted to herself. "But where to begin?" That was the pressing question.
Her small, black ears twitched at a grouse pounding the air with his wings, trying to impress a hen.
She snorted, breaking into a canter, the black feathering on her legs swishing around her hooves with her movement. Her hooves thudded out a dull, three beat rhythm as she made her way across the new land.
She needed to find a herd. She was vulnerable out in the open.
She slowed into her fox trotter's gait, then dropped into a walk, then a stop.
She whinnied long and loud. She hoped a herd, or a loner would hear and reply. Till then, she was on her own.
"Find a herd and a stallion." She closed her eyes, thinking. "How to begin. I see not a single horse in sight range. I canna scent any on the breeze. So....How in the name of Pard-Peran am I to find a herd?"
That question ran through her mind. A single, pounding query. How?
She started off again, cropping grass as she walked.
She lay down at starhigh, tired. She had been traveling for perhaps fifteen miles. She was exhausted. She lay on a small ridge. If she fell off, she wouldnt be injured. Her ears swiveled to catch any sound of danger.
Then, she slept.
Her ears suddenly stiffened. Quiet pawsteps. COUGAR!
Jah-Rana lunged to her hooves with a far carrying squealing whinny of a mare in danger. A cougar's growl lit her terror like a wildfire. She spun, kicking up sod, and sped across the dirt. "Oh....Help!" She whispered as she fled.
