In the beginning, Athanasia was one. There were the twin gods Nex and Vita, and it happened one day that a terrible battle was started between them.
At the peak of their battle they split the lands of Athanasia into two parallel worlds, and in their dying moments the gods transformed their respective realms into truly amazing places.
Vita created Utopia, the land of the living. He created the horse in his own image, and gave them lush, fertile lands to thrive apon.
Nex, gravely injured, created Dystopia, the land of the dead. In his dying breath he gave Dystopia trees, water and light of a surreal quality. He gave the horse a sanctuary in death, and eternal existence.
