Martyr, Chartyr, and Zephyr
Long ago three stallions made history. They tore the land of Arathi into pieces. A war started over the three territories. The land was scarred. Martyr was a gypsy vanner stallion. Chartyr was a lustiano, and Zephyr was a quarter horse. The three traveled for many days and nights to the land of legend, Arathi. Their fathers and mothers had told them stories of the magical and untamed place that was known as Arathi. It is said that a arch of trees is the entrance and only the pure wild at heart equines where allowed to pass. Others where turned away. Once the three say the arches they knew the stories where true. Each grew excited and hurried threw the gate to freedom. The land before them amazed them. They searched for the other horses that inhabited the land and found them under the rule of Leviathon. Leviathon was a clydesdale who was mean. He allowed the stallions to stay under his rule for a few years.
The Bargain
Leviathon did not like having other stallions in his herd. They charmed all of his mares and stole them from his grasps. So he allowed his territory to be split three ways and gave three mares to each stallion. Zephyr was left out of the deal. He joined Leviathon's herd. Leviathon had treachery in his heart. He planned to wait and attack the stallions when they were weak and gain all that he gave away.
The War
All of the stallions that had been kicked out of the herd to wander joined either Martyr or Chartyr. Then the war began. Leviathon sent all of his strongest horses to destroy them. For four days and nights the battle went on. Chartyr was crushed and mangled under the hoof of Leviathon. Martyr split the throat of Zephyr. The final fight was between Martyr and Leviathon. The outcome of the battle is not known. Leviathon is supposed to have been defeated by Martyr. None the less Martyr is the sign that all is good. Leviathon is the sign that all is bad. The territories remained split three ways. Now its up to the new stags to restore life.
